Meteo-France calls on eleven departments to be extremely vigilant on snow and ice overnight from Thursday to Friday. A snowy “return” will indeed take place and will concern Orne, Calvados, Eure, Seine-Maritime, Somme, Pas-de-Calais, Nord, Creuse, Loire, Haute-Loire and Puy-de-Dome. This episode will begin north of Hauts-de-France in the second part of the night and then gradually shift towards Normandy throughout the day on Friday. Heavy snow or sleet showers are also to be expected. The improvement will be gradual from east to west starting late Friday morning. On the west of Normandy, it will be necessary to wait for the evening to see the snow showers move away completely. On the episode, the expected accumulations are of the order of 3 to 5 centimeters.

At the same time, in the north and east of the Massif Central, precipitation will occur in the form of snow at lower and lower altitudes. Thus, from the middle of Friday night and most of the day, it will snow from 300 meters above sea level. A resumption of snow activity, also extending to the west of the Massif Central, is expected in the afternoon or evening of Friday. The snow will still be there on Saturday April 2.

Note that all these snowfalls will be accompanied by a sensitive or strong wind, clearly accentuating the feeling of cold. On the departments placed in yellow vigilance for the “snow” parameter, it may flake, the floors may be bleached, but the expected quantities will not pose any significant difficulties. This is particularly the case for the Paris region.
