A link error. The Quebec Ministry of Health apologized on Thursday April 14 after posting a tweet updating the evolution of Covid-19 cases in the Canadian province with a link that mistakenly referred to the Pornhub porn site.

“Due to a situation beyond our control, a link with inappropriate content has been posted on our Twitter account. We are looking for the causes. We are sorry for the inconvenience,” the ministry apologized after deleting the message in question.

The shortened link was initially to disseminate the most recent data concerning the pandemic in the French-speaking province of Canada, which recorded this Thursday more than 3,100 new cases and 26 additional deaths.

Checks are in progress

For its part, the ministry explained that the link “has been diverted to a non-recommendable site”. This “unrecommended” site is none other than Pornhub, one of the most popular porn sites on the planet. “As soon as we were made aware of the situation, we deleted the tweet,” the ministry said.

The Santé Québec account has more than 100,000 subscribers on this social network and is managed by the communications department, according to its information sheet.

Moreover, “verifications are currently underway to find out exactly what happened,” said the authorities.
