Tragic festivals. A father and his two sons died on December 25 in a fire in their house in the city of Quakertown, Pennsylvania, United States. Their Christmas tree would have caught fire according to local media.

According to the first elements of the police, the fire could have been caused by the electric garlands installed in the tree.

“For now, we think we are focusing our investigations on the side of the Christmas tree that may have caught fire because of the garlands,” said Scott McElree, police chief of Quakertown.

Moreover, “the zone of origin (of the fire) is located at the level of the Christmas tree, so we are not sure if it is of electrical origin or related to the withered tree”, indicated Fire Captain Doug Wilhelm to CNN.

During the response, firefighters discovered the lifeless bodies of Father Eric King, 41, and his two sons, Liam 11, and Patrick, 8. Their two dogs were also killed in the fire.

Only mother Kristin and the eldest son of the family, Brady, were able to escape the flames. With very minor injuries, they were taken care of and taken to hospital.

A fundraiser has been launched to support the remaining family members. More than $ 600,000 had been raised on Monday, December 27, on an initial objective of $ 20,000.
