The PCF presidential candidate Fabien Roussel was this Monday the political guest of the morning of CNEWS. He spoke in particular about the war in Ukraine and the claims of Vladimir Putin’s Russia.
“We must grant this special status to Crimea and Donbass,” said the communist candidate.
“This is what was to be implemented in the Minsk agreements and which was not respected”, he analyzed. For him, the non-application of these agreements “served as a pretext for Putin to invade Ukraine”.
An “unacceptable” invasion
While bringing his point of view on the conflict, Fabien Roussel does not support the Russian invasion: “we can always seek the causes of this invasion but it is inadmissible, intolerable. It is a violation of international law, reprehensible and intolerable”.
At the beginning of the week, new negotiations are opening in Istanbul (Turkey) between Moscow and kyiv. The issue of breakaway regions of Ukraine should be addressed. The latter also said she was ready to discuss “in depth” her neutrality.
