The only possible explanation for the explosion, on December 30, of the vehicle of French driver Philippe Boutron during the Dakar 2022 in Saudi Arabia is the installation of an “improvised explosive device”, indicated Friday a source close to of the file, confirming information from RTL.
According to this source, the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (Pnat) traveled to Saudi Arabia with investigators from the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI).
Technical and scientific police technicians were able to take samples from the vehicle.
At the time of the tragedy, the explosion of the vehicle had seriously injured the French pilot Philippe Boutron.
