Close to Russian President Vladimir Putin, French actor Gérard Depardieu strongly criticized him for his actions in Ukraine. According to him, the Kremlin is guilty of “insane inadmissible drifts”.

Gérard Depardieu has also announced that all of the receipts from his three concerts, scheduled for the beginning of April, will be donated to “Ukrainian victims”.

Known to be a close friend of Vladimir Putin, the French actor even took Russian nationality in 2013. However, he did not mince his words. “The Russian people are not responsible for the mad and unacceptable excesses of their leaders like Vladimir Putin,” he said in a statement.

On March 1, the sixth day of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Gérard Depardieu had already called for “stop arms and negotiate”. “Russia and Ukraine have always been brother countries. I am against this fratricidal war”, had expressed the French star.
