War in Ukraine: France repatriated its nationals in an exceptional convoy

The French Embassy in Ukraine organized, this Saturday, March 5, an exceptional convoy to repatriate the last French nationals present in the country from the city of Lviv, in the east of the country.

According to the ambassador of France in Ukraine, Etienne de Poncins, they would be around 600 to be still present in the country.

At the microphone of CNEWS, the ambassador detailed the organization of the evacuations of the last French nationals in the country. These French people boarded, Saturday, March 5, aboard secure buses, which will follow a protected route to the border, before being taken care of by the Quai d’Orsay relays.

In Lviv, a training base for civilian volunteers

Indeed, the members of the crisis cell of the Ministry of the Interior called all French nationals on Wednesday evening to inform them of the place and times of departure. Because the situation in Ukraine risks becoming even more difficult in the days to come, according to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian.
