Asked about the war in Ukraine in the morning of CNEWS this Tuesday, Nathalie Arthaud, candidate Lutte Ouvrière in the presidential election, estimated that “no international leader is able to stop Vladimir Putin”.
“My hopes rest in the local population who did not want this war and who are now seeing their dead come back. The Russians are likely to mobilize against this dictator”, she said while confidently not believing that the solution goes through a “Biden or a Macron”.
Since the start of the invasion in Ukraine, the Western allies of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have increased sanctions against Moscow, massively targeting companies, banks, senior officials, oligarchs and banning the export of goods to Russia.
Without succeeding in putting an end to a war which has already caused several thousand deaths and forced into exile more than 4.2 million Ukrainians, 90% of them women and children.
